Remember when I was on the hunt for an acrylic frame, and then stumbled onto a black tray that spawned a jute and chevron covered organizational project and then “if you give a mouse a cookie’d myself?” If not, check it out.
When I went to Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago, I FINALLY found acrylic frames. I mean seriously, does nobody carry these things anymore??
I picked up an 8×10 frame and kind of wondered where it would go, then realized it was the perfect fit for a shelving unit in our bedroom. #gotluckywiththatone <- ohmygod I just read this in context and can’t stop laughing about how inappropriate it is, but I’ll never remove it. Anyways. We recently got a second TV (ok, we borrowed/inherited it from the Fireman’s parents), and put it in our bedroom. Honestly, I’m not a fan of having a TV in the bedroom, mostly because it’s distracting and ugly, but I have trouble sleeping when the Fireman isn’t home at night, and being able to turn on a movie and fall asleep is pretty much the only way I get my zzz’s. Also, if you don’t live in the Northeast, let me catch you up on our winter real fast:
SNOW. SO MUCH EFFING SNOW.
And let me tell you, it was kind of amazing a few weeks ago when we were let out of class for a snow day, and we went home and got to watch a movie in bed. And by that I mean we both fell asleep. #toooldforthis
Anyways, we already had a shelf for the TV (from our old living room setup), so we just put it in the corner with the TV and DVD player and called it a day. But you know me, I can’t leave well enough alone.
Luckily for me, the Fireman has my best interests at heart, so when he received his GoPro camera in the mail a few weeks ago, he saved the acrylic box it came in because he knew that I’d find a use for it. Smart man, that one is! So I lined the tray with thick piece of paper (just taped down on the corners), and threw some glitter duct tape (do you die!? I mean, really!!) and gold washi tape on the box and called it a day.
The acrylic box is the perfect size for the remotes, and the tray holds a favorite new picture of mine, the box, and a sweet little owl that was a gift from one of my partners.
