Let’s just assume for the fun of it, that I pre-wrote this blog post. Right about the time I press publish, I’d be living a life of leisure at work, nomming on some bacon, not rushing to write some scrambled nonsense.
But I think it’s already scrambled. See, it’s 330 am on Friday. I’m at the point where there’s only really 2 hours of sleep I’m going to get, so I may as well stay up, right? All nighters are a thing of the past I think, considering I can already feel how I’m going to feel when I wake up in a few hours.
Anyways, I’m finishing up a huge project for the fire department (I expect a ticker tape parade or at least a handshake), and I apparently didn’t realize how long it was going to take me, since I’ve been working since 630 pm on it. 9 hours. Plus the 5 I put in yesterday, plus the 2 from this afternoon. Remind me to never volunteer to do something for those boys again.
The Fireman is still not home (he left when I started this project), and in the 9 hours that have passed, he has used his time wisely by going to 2 structure fires. Lucky bastard. I’m going to be in trouble if I’m still awake when he gets home, so here are my four favorite things today:
1. My bed.
2. A pillow. Preferably mine, but I’d take basically anything at this point.
3. This. Imagine my hand as the hammer and my phone as the alarm clock. Oh, and visualize lots of mumbled cursing as I burrow under the covers and then wake late in a panic.
4. And this. Imagine if this really worked. Sigh.
And I’m out. Like a light.
(Okay, so apparently 3 am makes me have terrible jokes.)
