Fact: I have a lot of jewelry. Don’t blame me, my mom has a floor to ceiling closet FULL of jewelry. I guess that it just runs in my genes :). When I moved, I didn’t bring all of my stuff. Some of it was given to my sister, some left behind. Unfortunately, I had to leave a few boxes behind so I’ve had to be creative with my storage. My great grandfather made my big jewelry box, where most of my stuff is kept.
I’ve got a box that I’ve been dreaming of having at the house since the day I moved out and had to leave it in California. It stores all my day to day jewelry: nose stud when I’m at work, EMS pins, most used earrings, etc.
The Fireman’s mama gave us a bunch of these glass canisters when we moved here, and luckily they are all perfect for holding my bracelets, watches, and hoop earrings. I actually use them throughout the house…they hold everything from sea glass to bracelets to cotton balls.
The rest of the earrings live on this adorable tree.
Like I said before, we’re trying to minimize the holes in the walls, which means I can’t hang up the necklace rack I have, so I rely on 3M hooks. They’re great. They’ve been up for 6 months with quite a bit of weight on them with no problems.
It’s all simple and accessible. Two of my favorite things! What about you? Do you have any special ways of storing your jewelry?
Phew! I think that that concludes the whirlwind organization week…I hope! I’m sure that I’ll be occasionally sharing more tips and little “makeovers” as I go. I sincerely hope that I helped at least one person with all this and didn’t just bomb your emails with email updates :).
