So a few weeks ago, I won a Keurig on Ebay. It was an accident, I promise. Well, when said Keurig arrived in the mail, we discovered that it was just a TAD bigger than our old coffee maker. I’ve always had a little bit of an issue with our kitchen counters. Since our microwave is a countertop one, it has eaten quite a bit up.
Last week, the Fireman went to a 657 hour fire call, and I had a little bit of fun redecorating the kitchen countertops.
This is what I started out with. Not enough space, too much crap on the countertops. It makes me a little crazy sometimes. Turns out that the Keurig is approximately the size of Jupiter, so this setup was probably out.
This was my first (and probably most obvious) setup. It worked because the coffee maker was aligned with the microwave (can you see my OCD from here?). I liked that it didn’t stick out too much, but there was still a little too much on the counter.
I hated this. In so many different ways.
So I went back to the original setup. I downsized my granola bar container (which made me dance a happy little jig) and managed not to organized the rest of it like I wanted to. It was hard. I was desperate. I moved all the cookbooks to the dresser, which in my mind made a lot more sense.
We scored at TJMaxx with a sweet little, and incrediblly heavy granite bookend to hold those suckers in place. For at least the next week, I have a feeling that I’ll be able to not freak out daily at the kitchen. Maybe. But I can’t promise anything.
