I’ve finished up all the decorations at home (finally), so here they are!
The Fireman told me that these are called chokeberries, and that they’re incredibly poisonous. This, of course, made me want to eat one. They grow wild all over the place here, and all I had to do was sweetly persuade him to wade through the marsh to cut me some. The things he does for me. They’ve started to dry out, but they won’t go bad, and will last all winter. I do love a self sufficient dried plant in my house.
I feel like this picture is pretty self explanatory. The containers are residing where our little swimmy child used to live. Poor fishy. We miss him lots. My sister got the “create” sculpture for me at a Kennebunkport store called Abacus. Fantastic store.
Again, relatively self explanatory. Terrible lighting though. I’m embarrassed. We’ve got an excess of ornaments this year since the Fireman INSISTS that we don’t have to decorate the back of the tree: “No one sees it anyways!” Well, I know about it!
Every year I buy a peace ornament. Kind of lame, I know, but I leave them up all year round.
This was my stocking when I was little…my mom made sure to send it to me a few years ago. He had pockets in the front and the back, and my sister and I always argued over who got more stuff in their stockings. Oh, the things we remember from childhood.
So that’s it. I’m sure that I’ll find more (or make more) things to put around the house in the future weeks…
