So I decided to go on a photo expedition. And I ended up at Mount Washington. It was quite a drive…and a gorgeous day to boot. I started off at Mount Chocorua.
I moved on from there to a hike that ended sooner than I would have liked when I found a large, recent pile of scat and decided I’d call it quits before I got mauled by a large animal. Beautiful river though…
From there I headed to Jackson Falls (actual destination) but grabbed a quick shot of Mount Washington since it was so clear.
Once at Jackson Falls, I discovered why it’s so popular. It is absolutely insanely gorgeous. It doesn’t help that Jackson itself is like a little storybook town. As one of my coworkers put it, “They put pretty in the water in Jackson.”
While I was driving on Route 16 to Jackson, I noticed a billboard that read: “Mount Washington: only 20 minutes away!” So, through some wierd logic, I decided, “Hey, why not?”
Halfway up, I stopped to snap this picture of the valley below. It may not look it, but it was COLD and incredibly windy. It got even worse as I got closer to the mountain base…
Here’s the view from the parking lot. Mount Washington is in the left hand corner. I considered going to the top but it was too late in the day…maybe next weekend.
The towers in the above picture are part of the Mount Washington Observatory.
After my little mountain adventure, I headed home. But not before I captured these last few shots, of course.
That’s it. Any fun adventures lately?
