1:30 pm: Arrive at Parsonfields Seminary in Maine. INSANE location. Its an old converted schoolhouse set on 10 acres. The entire inside is completely original. Start shooting everything to test out lighting.
1:40 pm: Find bride nervously touching up makeup with bridesmaids in one part of the house. Pull them outside to start taking pictures. Father arrives. Starts crying. Mother arrives. Starts crying. I want to cry and hope she’s wearing waterproof mascara.
2:25 pm: Bride has panic attack. Parents swoop in and tap their magic wands and fix it.
2:30 pm: Ceremony starts. Couple cries throughout. Bride drops ring and gets nervous giggles. Flower girl starts crying. Son of bride sees her crying and rushes the gazebo.
3:00 pm: Posed pictures start and feature a kick ass 1969 little red Datsun with a “Just Married” sign and beer cans attached to the back. Pictures continue for a good hour.
4:00 pm: Dinner starts. Love me some down time.
4:30 pm: Dancing (bride & groom, father & bride, etc).
4:45 pm: Camera DIES. Milk battery until the Fireman can get there with my battery charger. Manage to catch almost everything.
5:45 pm: Charger arrives. Spend last few hours charging for a few minutes every time a song starts.
6:15 pm: Cake cutting. Cake gets shoved in Maid of Honor and Best Man’s faces. Priceless. Cake fight ensues.
6:30 pm: Garter toss/bouquet toss. Bride tosses flowers from balcony…
And that’s how my glamorous life goes…now for the fun part…editing all the 2,533 pictures I took. Can’t wait!
