We used to live in a furnished condo with a king sized bed. When I first moved in there, I bought some awesomely comfortable 87645 thread count sheets. King sized (duh). Fast forward 2 years, and we now own a queen sized bed. And like any normal (read: broke) girl, I don’t want to go out and buy ANOTHER $45+ set of sheets when all I really need is a fitted sheet for the bottom. Everything else works perfectly as is. We’d been tucking one side of the sheet under the mattress, but it kept getting pulled loose, and was in general driving me crazy.
So I went out and bought a queen fitted sheet at Wallyworld for a mere $12, and excitedly washed it. That night, I went to make the bed, and I was confronted with this:
TOO. FREAKING. BIG. I checked the tag and this is what I saw:
I accidentally bought a king sized sheet mislabeled as a queen. All I could do was laugh, and then think, “This is such a typical thing to happen to me, I bet it would make a great blog post.” Sad how my mind works. The next time I was at Walmart, I happened upon some sheet suspenders…we will have to see how those work. All I can do now is hope that I smarten up and start REALLLLLY checking all tags I can possibly find. (Somewhere, my mother is laughing.) Ok, I’ll just have to start finding solutions to my stupidity :).
